We don't just teach policies - We write them

Every course, exercise, and consulting project is grounded in operational reality, peer-reviewed research, and real-world incident analysis. We partner with force science specialists, emergency operations researchers, and leading academic institutions. As principal members of NFPA 3000 we helped write the active assailant national standard since 2017. We have also assisted with the creation of two Interagency Board whitepapers and the North Carolina Active Assailant Whitepaper on behalf of Governor McCrory. Our research and policy work inform the standards and frameworks that agencies implement across the nation.

Research-Backed and Evidence-Based

Every course, exercise, and consulting project is grounded in operational reality, peer-reviewed research, and real-world incident analysis. We partner with force science specialists, emergency operations researchers, and leading academic institutions. Our flagship courses each contain more than 400 citations and references.

Multidisciplinary Approach

Most of our core instructors hold credentials and experience across multiple disciplines: law enforcement command, fire operations, emergency medicine, counter-terrorism operations, prosecutors, and emergency management. This means every course addresses the interagency dynamics of real-world response.

Leaders in Critical event response Analysis

Threat Suppression leads comprehensive after-action reviews (AARs) for major critical incidents, including the Oxford High School mass shooting report. We work directly with agencies, command staff, and incident commanders to conduct rigorous, objective analysis of response operations, identify lessons learned, and develop actionable recommendations for operational improvement. Analyzing real incidents, understanding what worked and what didn't, and translating those findings into training and policy is fundamental to how we develop our courses and consulting services. We don't theorize about active assailant response; we study how agencies actually respond to these events and build our methodology around real-world performance data.

Repeat Clients and Referrals

The majority of our business comes from repeat clients and referrals. Agencies return because our training translates to improved performance and outcomes. Agencies who have attended our training subsequently responded to 15 major mass violence attacks. After each event, the agencies reached back and said the Threat Suppression training saved lives and improved operational effectiveness.

Law Enforcement Training

Law enforcement agencies face complex challenges during active assailant events: command and control under extreme stress, multi-agency coordination, tactical decision-making, and threat assessment. Our courses equip command staff, line officers, SROs, and specialized units with protocols proven in the field.
