About Our Firm

Our History

Threat Suppression has an international reputation as one of the premier safety and security firms in the world. Our business has grown rapidly, despite the fact that we do not market or advertise our services. More than 95% of our business comes from word-of-mouth recommendations. Nearly 75% of our business is repeat business from our clients.

Many federal agencies have recognized the expertise that Threat Suppression provides. Our largest client is the Department of Defense, accounting for more than 70% of our annual revenue. In addition, the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, Department of Education, Department of Energy, and the United States District Attorney’s Office have contracted services at Threat Suppression. Threat Suppression has received numerous "sole source/no bid" contract awards from federal agencies because of our safety and security expertise.

Since 2012, Threat Suppression has provided training to more than 200,000 first responders, school officials, military personnel, government officials, hospital employees, and private businesses. Threat Suppression personnel have conducted training classes on five continents. We have provided training on active assailant response, response to fire-as-a-weapon events, large-scale civil unrest, critical infrastructure vulnerability, crisis communications, advanced incident command practices, hospital safety and security, house of worship safety and security, tactical medicine, large-scale civil unrest, and much more. We have also assisted more than 3,000 agencies and organizations with emergency operations planning and procedures.

Threat Suppression is an internationally recognized leader in public safety training. Our staff were among the first in the world to teach about an integrated law enforcement/fire/EMS response to active shooter events. Starting in 2007, our staff lectured throughout the world on this integrated active shooter approach. In 2011, our staff again was the first in the world to create a comprehensive training package on integrated law enforcement/fire/EMS response to large-scale civil unrest. In 2014, our staff again led the world, providing practical training for responders on integrated law enforcement/fire response to fire-as-a-weapon events. In 2021, we again led the world by teaching the first 40-hour Tactical Fire Company course, which integrates fire personnel with SWAT teams. Not only do our staff pride themselves on being "first in class" we also take great pride to be "best in class."

We have provided training and consulting for more than 2,000 government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, school districts, universities, and more. Approximately 80% of our work is for the United States government. Below are just some of our many clients (training for intelligence agencies and NATO Tier 1 tactical teams are not listed):
