George Medlock is one of the original four co-founders at Threat Suppression, Incorporated. George actively serves as a member of the Board of Directors at Threat Suppression. George was in the United States Marine Corps from 1968-1972, serving several combat tours in Vietnam. In 1999, George Medlock joined the South Carolina Military Department, where he was assigned to the Provost Marshal Detachment (Military Police). George currently holds the rank of Major with the South Carolina Military Department and remains an active military police officer.
George has coordinated and managed security for the University of South Carolina, DHEC operations/exercises (as military security and law enforcement), and two National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) exercises (Operation Hurricane Charles and Operation Caduceus). George was also a member of the law enforcement security team for the 2010 Medal of Honor Convention in Charleston, South Carolina.
In 2005, George became a sworn law enforcement officer and currently works with a large, urban law enforcement agency where he is an instructor with the Training Division. In this position, George regularly instructs firearms training, defensive tactics, knife defense, and active shooter training. George regularly teaches training for both patrol officers and special operations units within the department. In 2011, George was awarded the South Carolina Sheriff’s Association Life Saving Medal (one of South Carolina’s highest law enforcement honors) for actions that he performed to subdue an armed man attempting suicide.
George has received extensive training in soft target awareness, tactical response to terrorism, civil emergency response, close-quarters combat, and civilian personal protection. George is a certified firearms instructor, range safety officer, and personal protection instructor. George has a bachelor’s degree in education from Georgia Southern University.
