Christopher "Chris" Swecker brings senior executive leadership across federal law enforcement, global corporate security, and complex investigations. He spent 24 years as a Special Agent with the FBI, retiring in 2006 as Assistant Director where he commanded the Criminal Investigations Division. In this role, he held enterprise-level oversight of all FBI criminal and cyber investigations worldwide. His portfolio included violent crime, public corruption, financial crime, cyber threats, and counterterrorism operations. Mr. Swecker joined Threat Suppression in 2026 as general counsel. 

Mr. Swecker held multiple senior command roles during his FBI career, including Special Agent in Charge of North Carolina, where he led high-profile terrorism and national security investigations. These included the successful apprehension of the Atlanta Olympic bombing suspect and the dismantling of a Hezbollah terrorist financing network through the first application of the RICO statute in a terrorism prosecution. He also served in operational leadership roles in Oklahoma City, Miami, and Houston, managing complex, multi-jurisdictional investigations.

In 2003, Mr. Swecker deployed to Iraq as the FBI’s On-Scene Commander, leading counterintelligence, terrorism financing, and international terrorism investigations in an active conflict environment. His work included investigative leadership following major attacks on civilian and international facilities, including the United Nations headquarters bombing.

Following his FBI service, Mr. Swecker served as Chief Security Officer for Bank of America, where he directed global security strategy and operations across one of the largest financial institutions in the world. He oversaw investigations, physical security, executive protection, and international security programs, managing more than 600 internal personnel and approximately 3,800 contract security staff, with responsibility for a security budget exceeding $250 million. He designed and implemented a centralized Security Operations Analysis and Command Center, integrating monitoring and response capabilities across more than 6,100 branches, 18,000 ATMs, and 450 corporate facilities. He also led enterprise crisis response and business continuity operations for security and terrorism-related incidents.

Mr. Swecker maintains an active legal and advisory practice focused on security, fraud, and complex investigations. He has served as Independent Special Counsel for the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office and advises organizations on risk, compliance, and investigative strategy.

Mr. Swecker has testified before multiple U.S. Congressional committees on matters including terrorism, financial crime, human trafficking, cyber threats, and data privacy. His expertise has been sought by national media outlets, including 60 Minutes, CBS This Morning, Good Morning America, Fox News, and C-SPAN. He is a frequent keynote speaker and published author on financial crime, money laundering, cybersecurity, and operational risk.

Mr. Swecker served as Chairman of the North Carolina Governor’s Crime Commission and has held advisory roles on multiple statewide public safety and justice initiatives, including the North Carolina Attorney General’s Task Force on Campus Violence and the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Commission on the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

Mr. Swecker holds a Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science from Appalachian State University, where he was a four-year varsity football letterman. He is admitted to practice law in North Carolina and Virginia. He is a recipient of the Presidential Rank Award for distinguished federal service.
