Brent is an Associate Consultant with Threat Suppression, joining the company in 2023. Brent specializes in executive protection, threat intelligence, site security, digital forensics, and managing complex security projects. Brent was an integral part in planning and coordinating multiple National Special Security Events (NSSEs).
Brent retired as a Senior Special Agent with the United States Secret Service in 2022 after 25 years of service. He spent the last seven years managing the North Carolina Cyber Fraud Task Force, comprised of 300 members from private sector, local, state, and federal agencies. He has extensive experience in digital forensics and cyber fraud. Brent is an expert at the forensic examination of computers, mobile devices, electronic communications, and skimming devices.
In his time at the Charlotte Field Office, Brent also served as a Perimeter Advance Agent for the 2012 Democratic National Convention and the 2020 Republican National Convention. In these roles, he was responsible for developing a security plan for 45 square blocks in one of the United States' largest cities. Brent supervised 100 personnel from local, state, and federal agencies in developing and implementing a security plan.
Prior to coming to Charlotte, Brent served as a Special Agent assigned to President Ford's detail in California for four years. He provided daily support for the former President and the former First Lady to include driving, site advances, and personal protection on a detail. Brent also supervised the technical security system, including alarms and cameras. Brent provided operational and logistical planning for the detail, including scheduling personnel, procuring equipment, and relocating the whole detail for an extended period of time.
Prior to President Ford's detail, Brent was assigned to the Washington (DC) Field Office. In this role, he provided domestic and foreign operational support for President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. He served on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 protection detail during her 2016 presidential campaign. Brent acted as a Lead Advance, Site Advance, Motorcade Advance, and Protective Intelligence Advance for the presidential details and visiting Heads of State. Brent conducted criminal investigations related to bank fraud, identity theft, and counterfeit currency. He also conducted extensive background investigations for new employees and vendors at the White House.
Prior to his service at the Washington Field Office, Brent served as a Special Agent in the Seattle Field Office. In Seattle, he conducted criminal investigations related to bank fraud, identity theft, and counterfeit currency. He also provided domestic and foreign operational support for the President, Vice President, and visiting foreign Heads of State.
Brent has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from York College of Pennsylvania with a minor in psychology. Brent has received numerous specialized law enforcement certifications during his career. In his free time, Brent enjoys running, motorcycles, cars, and hiking- including a recent trek on Mt.
